We decided to try something totally new for Thanksgiving this year. We had Thanksgiving dinner in Colonial Williamsburg at "Christiana Campbell's Tavern". It was fun to experience an old fashion Thanksgiving. The staff was dressed up in Historic clothing, they had someone playing the violin, and our dinner was lit by candle light. They didn't have high chairs...my guess was it wouldn't really fit into the decor, but to our surprise the atmosphere was enough to keep Brock sitting in the booth...that and the little friend he made in the booth behind us (check out the video at the bottom...funny little guy).

Gavin's Zoo Field Trip...
Matt had the day off today so that meant I got to go with Gavin's class to the Metro Richmond Zoo. The day was COLD but we had a great time anyway looking at all the fun animals. It's always so fun to see your kids in their school element. He has quite the fun group of friends he hangs with. From what Matt told me he and Brock had a great day with just the two of them too, Brock loved having Daddy all to himself!
The Train ride with some school buddies.

Early morning Football & Luray Caverns...
Last Saturday we had another early morning football game. After the game we headed up to Shenandoah Valley to the Luray Caverns, Garden Maze, and to hike up a few little trails. The Caverns were so amazing...Calee and Gavin loved learning about the stalactites and stalagmites, Brock ended up falling asleep in the backpack that Matt so kindly wore for us. The Garden Maze was a blast, we raced boys against girls...boys won by literally 5 seconds, so close it should really be a tie...but the boys wont admit to that. After we went to dinner we took a little hike trail up the mountain...the view was so beautiful! I love Autumn in Virginia!

Halloween
Well we certainly got good use out of this years Halloween costumes! The kids had so many different activities/parties to wear their costumes to. It was a good Halloween season! I think we have found Brock's favorite holiday...he loved wearing his cowboy outfit, knocking on doors and getting candy! Calee and Gavin are seasoned pros at this and their loot of candy sure is reflective of their skills! Good job kids!

Pumpkin Carving
Gotta love carving and decorating pumpkins...we sure do! The kids did a great job...and Daddy did a great job helping (the dirty job usually ends up being his job). At the end of the day the kids were very proud of their creations.

Pumpkin Patch
Last week we headed to Chesterfield Berry Farm to go Pumpkin Pickin'. We did rubber duck races, shot corn out a "corn cannon", saw lots of fun farm animals, and of coarse took the hayride into the Pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins.

Haunted Gingerbread house...
For playgroup at my friends house (she went way above and beyond!), we made Haunted Gingerbread Houses. Brock had such a great time at this Halloween party...thanks Rachel for all you did! I brought home extra supplies so that Calee and Gavin could add their special touches to the Haunted house. Looks pretty scary to me...and yummy!
