Grandma comes to VA

Grandma arrived on Monday morning...yep she took a night flight to get to us. She came to help me bring the kids to Utah on Wednesday. My Mom and I were talking a while back and since Matt can't make it to Utah again for quite some time...I should probably come to Utah with the kids, so that they can see family. Matt agreed but he had one condition...Grandma had to come and help get the kids around the airport. Grandma was all over that...and made arrangements to come and help us fly out. It's been so nice to have her around! Matt and I got a little lunch date in yesterday...Matt took me to lunch then to Home Depot, Romantic eh?! Well we actually had a really great time. I guess Matt and I need to get out more, the mere fact that we had fun together at Home Depot is a little scary. Thanks for the help Grandma!

Father's Day

The kids were so excited for Father's Day. They gave Daddy some really sweet little cards and we framed some bath-tub pictures for the bathroom for him...Matt has been asking for that for quite some time!...He was very excited to finally get that! Of coarse he got all his favorite candies...and of course the kids helped him eat those. Matt wore his fabulous tie the kids made him from last father's day (Matt asked me not to make him another one this year because he wanted to get some more use out of last years tie...he really looks forward to wearing it all year!). Brock went to nursery on father's day (with Mom at his side) and he made Daddy another cute little paper tie. WE LOVE OUR DADDY!!!

Finishing off the day with some nice x-box playing!

Last day of School...

Last Day of school was Friday (June 13, 2008). Calee had a great 2nd grade year with Mrs. Nolan as her teacher...she did some amazing fun activities and projects, and is ready for 3rd grade next school year. Gavin had a super Kindergarten year with Mrs. Schreiber as his teacher...they had so many fun theme days (pajama day, 50's day, ect...), he has learned so many new things and is ready for 1st grade.

I put a picture of the kids on the first day of school and the last day of school...kinda fun to see how much they have grown.

First Day of School (Sept. 2007)

Last Day of school (June 2008)

After school got out there was no time for relaxing...Calee and Gavin both had birthday parties to attend. Brock and I went along with Gavin to his pool party, after Calee was done at her friend's birthday party she joined us at the pool as well. We had a great time...the kids played Marco Polo, splashed each other, and just had a good time swimming. It was fun to see the kids with some friends from school...Calee and her friends made themselves Brock's "people", making sure he was happy the whole time. Gavin had a cute little friend from school chasing him around...Oh 6 year old flirting.

Gavin's "First Year of school" program...

OK...One word CUTE!! The Kindergarten program Gavin's class put on was so fun to watch. The music teacher does a FABULOUS job with song selection. Daddy was able to get the day off and come and support Gavin with Mommy and Brock. Gavin did a great job...he remembered his speaking part and delivered it perfectly! I can't believe he is done with Kindergarten!!!

Gavin's first oral report!!

Our Gavin really is growing up! On Monday (6-9-08) he had his very first report at school...For this project the kids were asked to pick something that they wanted to teach the rest of the class about. Gavin chose to teach the class about his very favorite airplane the "SR-71 Blackbird". Gavin practiced all weekend for his big presentation, this was the easiest homework he has had so far (I guess it helps he got to pick is very favorite thing to talk about).

Itty Bitty Basketball

Gavin has done this great class through the county rec center for 2 sessions, "Itty Bitty Basketball" (from the name you can probably gather it is for 4-5 year olds). Gavin has really loved being able to go on Wednesday nights with just him and dad to play some Basketball. This was his last session...next time he will be too old (I can't believe he is growing up so fast). The whole family came to support him on his last day (6-4-08). Happy graduation from "Itty Bitty Basketball" Gavin!!

Soccer Stars

Calee and Gavin had a great spring soccer season. Calee was #4 on the Galaxy team. Gavin was #7 on the Impact team. We just finished our last game on Saturday (May 31, 2008). It is so much fun to watch them play soccer, you can see how much they love it too.
